The Canadian Team Sports Coalition

United in concern for the future of sports, nineteen national sport-governing bodies have joined forces to raise awareness of the importance of team sport.

Our Purpose

In addition to communicating the unique benefits of team sports, the Canadian Team Sports Coalition (CTSC) will collaborate on common issues and opportunities including sponsorship, public policy, sport tourism, multi-sport event hosting, athlete services and funding. It will seek to bring voice to the issues and concerns impacting the more than 24 million adult Canadians involved in team sportĀ  The Coalition is primarily an advocacy organization, having the following purposes:

  1. Carry out research in relation to the unique contribution of Team Sports to the Canadian sport system;
  2. Enhance the capacity and sustainability of Team Sports by leveraging resources and sharing best practices;
  3. Increase awareness of challenges and opportunities facing Team Sports;
  4. Prepare and implement advocacy strategies in relation to Team Sports with key partners and decision-makers (government and other funding bodies).

The Team Sports Coalition is committed to upholding the principles of the Canadian Sport Policy in pursuing its purposes.
